How to Delete Your Shoptonio Account
Account Deletion Instructions
To delete your Shoptonio account and associated data, please follow these steps:
- Send an email to support@shoptonio.com
- Use the subject line: “Delete my account”
- Include the phone number associated with your account
What happens next?
- We will process your deletion request within 7 business days
- You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted
- Your account will be immediately deactivated upon receiving your request
Data Deletion Details
When your account is deleted, we will remove:
- Your personal information (name, phone number, email)
- Your app preferences and settings
- Payment information and subscription details
Data We Retain:
- Shopping lists and household data you’ve contributed will remain accessible to other household members
- Messages and activity history within shared households
- Items you’ve added to shared lists
Additional Data Retention:
- Legal compliance records (up to 30 days)
- Analytics data in aggregate form (anonymized)
- Transaction records required by law
Why We Retain Household Data
To maintain the collaborative experience for other household members, we preserve:
- Shared shopping lists and their history
- Household settings and preferences
- Member contributions to shared spaces
This ensures that deleting your account won’t disrupt the shopping experience for other household members you’ve collaborated with.
Additional Information
Subscription Management:
- Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel your subscription
- If you’re paying for a household subscription, you must manually cancel it:
- For Apple App Store subscriptions: Go to iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- For Google Play subscriptions: Open Google Play Store > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
- Please cancel your subscription before requesting account deletion to avoid future charges
Household Management:
- If you’re the only member of a household, the household will be deleted
- If you’re an admin of a shared household, admin rights will be transferred to another member
- If you’re the paying member of a household:
- Other members will lose access when your subscription ends
- To maintain access, another member must set up a new subscription before your subscription ends
- We recommend coordinating with your household members before deleting your account
Data Cleanup:
- Downloaded app data should be removed by uninstalling the Shoptonio app from your devices
- Ensure you’ve cancelled your subscription before deleting your account
- If you’re the paying member, coordinate with your household to transfer payment responsibility if they want to maintain access
