This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use Shoptonio, our mobile app and associated services (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Phone number used for authentication.

Household and User Content: Names, lists, items, notes, and other content you contribute within your household.

Payment Information: Subscription payments processed through RevenueCat; we do not store full payment details.

Usage Analytics: Device identifiers, crash reports, and app performance data collected via the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the App.
  • Manage accounts and households.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and refunds.
  • Improve App functionality and user experience via analytics.
  • Communicate with users regarding the App, updates, or customer support.

3. Sharing & Third Parties

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers, including:

  • SuperTokens — authentication services. Receives account information (phone number) for account verification and authentication.
  • RevenueCat — subscription and payment management. Receives subscription status and payment information necessary to process transactions.
  • Sentry — crash reporting and error tracking. Receives crash reports, error logs, and device information to help us identify and fix technical issues.
  • Mixpanel — analytics and user behavior tracking. Receives usage analytics data, device identifiers, and aggregated user behavior patterns to help us improve the App.
  • New Relic — performance monitoring and application insights. Receives app performance metrics and technical data to monitor App functionality.
  • LaunchDarkly — feature flag management. Receives device identifiers and user identifiers necessary to manage feature rollouts and configurations.

We may also disclose your information:

  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests (such as subpoenas or court orders).
  • To enforce our terms, protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
  • In connection with any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our business or assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising purposes.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Website: Our website currently does not use cookies. We may use site tagging or other non-cookie analytics to improve site performance.

Mobile App: The App may use cookies or similar technologies (such as device identifiers) to remember preferences, analyze performance, and support functionality.

You can manage tracking preferences through your device or browser settings.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete or anonymize your account data, retaining only limited legal compliance records for up to 30 days after deletion (see account deletion instructions for details).
  • Payment records: As required by law (typically 7 years).
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption and secure authentication via SuperTokens. However, no system is completely secure.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for users 18 years and older. A subscription must be created by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

We will respond to your request within 45 days. If necessary, we may extend this period by an additional 45 days, in which case we will notify you of the extension and the reason for it, or as otherwise required by applicable law. We may request verification of your identity before processing certain requests.

California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell your personal information).
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
