Terms of Use for Shoptonio

Journey West Solutions, LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides Shoptonio, a collaborative shopping list app and associated services (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility & Scope of Use

The App is available to individuals who can access it through their device’s app store.

You may create your own household within the App or join an existing household if invited.

The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the App for business purposes.

2. Accounts & Security

Accounts are created using your phone number and verified via one-time password (OTP).

Authentication is handled securely via SuperTokens, and all network traffic is transmitted over HTTPS.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.

3. User Content & Acceptable Use

You may contribute content (such as household names, items, lists, or notes) visible only to your household members.

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for unlawful or harmful purposes.
  • Share offensive, abusive, or misleading content.
  • Attempt to copy, reverse engineer, or disrupt the App.

We reserve the right to remove content or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property

The App and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Journey West Solutions, LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you create within the App (such as lists, items, and notes). However, by using the App, you grant Journey West Solutions, LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and distribute your content only as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the App, including making your content available to you and, where applicable, other members of your household in accordance with your settings. This license does not permit us to sell your content or share it with third parties for their independent use.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Subscriptions are handled securely through RevenueCat with App Store and Google Play billing.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through the applicable app store.

Refunds and cancellations are subject to the policies of the App Store or Google Play and may vary by platform.

We are not responsible for processing payments or handling refunds beyond what is provided by these platforms.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Website: Our website currently does not use cookies. We may use site tagging and other non-cookie analytics technologies to understand site traffic and improve performance.

Mobile App: The App may use cookies or similar technologies (such as device identifiers) to:

  • Remember user preferences.
  • Analyze app performance and usage.
  • Support essential functionality.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free use of the App.

Your use of the App is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by U.S. law:

We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Our total liability for any claims related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Orange County, California for any disputes arising under these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the App or by other reasonable means.
